The Covid-19 pandemic made the DKN Nonwoven industry, from Grupo Sul Brasil de Caçador, double its TNT production in recent months.A good part of the production is being directed to the manufacture of personal protection materials, especially for the health area.According to businessman Jovelci Gomes, president of the Sul Brasil group, more than 20 coils were donated for the production of masks, aprons and other items.Each coil can produce up to 20,000 masks.The companies Daniela Tombini and Braghini are partnerships of Grupo Sul Brasil, using non-woven fabric (TNT).This partnership benefited several entities in Caçador and region, such as Maicé Hospital, Fire Brigade, Health Department and others.“Our material is certified.We have the conditions, technology and structure to meet the demand, in an appropriate and responsible manner.Our TNT material, called SMS (Spunbond-Meltblow-Spunbond) is the most suitable for the production of masks and aprons, for health procedures”, explains Gomes.He defends the use of TNT masks by the population.“The fabric, due to its textile structure, is very open when compared to non-woven fabric, which is more filtering.The structure of TNT is composed of fiber agglomerate, and as the product has a series of layers, it is waterproof, with greater filtering power”, he says.TNT is a material similar to fabric used for clothing and other applications, but it is obtained from an alloy of fibers or polymers, usually polypropylene, the base material for the manufacture of plastic products.Jovelci also points out that the company in Caçador has all the conditions for the production of respirators.“Our industry is prepared with technology and structure”, he comments.The Sul Brasil group is among the 500 largest companies in the South of the country.The TNT production technology, with all certifications, is limited to a few industries in the country, and Sul Brasil is one of them.“Our product is used in the most diverse segments and our quality follows the history of Sul Brasil, which since 1992 has invested in technology and modernization”, he adds.© 2005 - 2022 - Caçador Online - www.cacador.net - All rights reserved
